THe process Every client first asks "So, what's the website design process...How long will it take...What do I have to do...What do I have to give you...When can we get started...How much will it cost..." We spend about an hour and a half during our first meeting, to discuss your specifics, however, here is some information to answer commonly-asked questions. What's the design process? The process consists of our first meeting to evaluate thoroughly your website needs. Do you want a brochure site, an informational site, a shopping site, a login site, a portal page, an event page, etc. Then, we determine the components which would be needed to host your site (will it need a shopping cart, a client login, animations, a database and custom programming, a photo gallery, forms, special coding or program languages, etc). Once we determine these factors, then you provide us with the text content (unless you add on our copy writing services) and images (unless you add on our photo/image/art acquisition services). We may then purchase, on your behalf, your domain name/s, website hosting package and any add-on features. We then present site designs to you. You choose the one that best suits your aesthetics. We then initiate the design and programming phase. Upon your phase approvals, your website is soon up and running. How long will it take? A timeline is initially established, and though a website can be fully up and running within just a couple of weeks, invariably things happen during the process that alter the initial deadline. We can typically complete a website for you, upon being provided complete text, image and site design choice from you, within two weeks, though more average timeframes have been 4-6 weeks. It is important to note that delays and changes in content or format occasioned by the client may alter the anticipated timeline and can significantly affect the final rates. What do I have to do, what do I have to give you? The basic design rates referenced below are for our design services. You know your business best of all, and we rely on you to provide us with a clear purpose for your site. This means that though we are happy to work with you to evaluate the type of content (text) and pages you should have, based on your competition, client and industry needs, as well as what types of images you should use, it is still your responsibility to provide us with complete and accurate text, images and page titles. We typically do not begin the design process until we have all of the information and files that we need from you, since we can not work effectively without these, and to begin design without them can lead to large increases in cost. Once you have finalized your choices and provided all necessary materials, our design and programming processes are most efficient and economical when they are not interrupted by elective revisions. When can we get started? Upon your providing us with accurate and final text, images and page titles -- oh, and your final choice of design layout -- we then begin the process of designing and programming of your site.
